Beam Rifle

A small carbine issued to the Engage Zero. Designed for rapid attacks at close to medium ranges.

Shield

Capable of being mounted to either forearm, this nimble shield offers protection against a variety of dangers.

Additional Booster

Developed in response to high mobility suits deployed by Zeon remnants, this large booster pack provided exceptional thrust for pilots able to withstand the g-force.

Beam Saber

Stored on pivoting hardpoints on the back of the Gundam, these beam sabers provide a close quarters melee weapon.

Kit Features

Anti-Mobile Suit Elegance

The kit includes a simple stand that helps with airborne poses but limits articulation.
The skirt sections have tabs that allow you to link them into the hip joint.
The Additional Booster has a ton of articulation! Each of the large sections move independently and you can unsocket the larger thruster for more posing options.

I Want A Gundam With A Pretty Skit And a Loooong Beam Saber

Cheers:

+ I am in love with SO MUCH about the design! From top to bottom, the Engage Zero’s fluid design brings the agile Gundam to life.
+ The Additional Booster changes the silhouette in massive ways. The styling difference sells the idea of it being a necessary retrofit without feeling out of place.
+ Although the included stand isn’t versatile, it’s still an appreciated & useful accessory.

Cons:

– Good grief this kit did NOT like to be panel lined! There were some shallow panel lines, but a lot of the curved surfaces didn’t “take” the flow type panel liners I typically used. I needed to apply some techniques I hadn’t used since I started and develop some new ones. Its a little inconsistent but I am satisfied with my final results & learned a fair bit along the way.

Closing thoughts:

What an absolute shame this is a Premium Bandai release! I wasn’t building models when it went up for pre-orders but many months after release I lucked out and found it at Nani!? in Dayton, OH for a fair resell price.

I managed to break not one, but both v-fins while removing the safety flags. One mended pretty well but the other is a bit more noticeable.

Seriously… I can’t stress how much I like the Engage Zero. The combination of the head design, spotlight sensors, flowing skirt, astonishing knee joint, bell bottoms, and stylish heels make this one of my favorite designs I’ve encountered since getting back into Gundam.
