“Amida pilots one of the 9 original Hyakurens created by Teiwaz. Its components were manufactured using higher quality materials than the mass production version that followed and provide enhanced performance.”

130mm Assault Rifle

A weapon developed with a larger caliber than the Hyakuren’s standard 110mm Rifle Canon.

Single-Edged Blade

A melee blade. The sheath can be mounted on the back of the waist.

110mm Rifle Cannon

A lightweight rifle manufactured by Euro Electronics, a subsidiary of Teiwaz. Features a collapsable stock and is standard issue for the Hyakuren.

Knuckle Guard

A melee armament stored within the side skirt armor. There is a discharge mechanism, and during impact it emits an electric strike.

The Single-Edged Blade may be drawn from its sheath when mounted on the rear skirt.
Quinn’s Opinion
A Pinnacle Mobile Suit for the Vanguard of The Hammerhead

* I used a combination of both brown & grey panel lining to provide variety & contrast.
* I painted the rear armor of the arms white. (Its a bit flaky & rough, at the time I only had Gundam Marker GM166 available; I have since moved on to XGM01 which is significantly better.)
* I painted the divots on the sides of the shoulders as well as the vents on the backpack & rear of the legs using GM12.

+ I like the menacing, alien design of the head.
+ On-suit storage for weapons is always a highlight for me; between the always available Knuckle Guards tucked away in the side skirts and the versatility offered by the rear skirt you can always have a loadout + reserves.
+ The joints are surprisingly articulate for such a bulky design, but have no issue balancing in most ground poses.

– The side skirts are connected to the suit by a hinged polycap peg that allows them to swivel but does not grant much travel before they disconnect.
– The Knuckle Guards are kept in the side skirts by friction and are easily jostled out. Furthermore, their handles are also held into their slots by friction but I resolved this with modeling cement.

All in all I feel like Amida’s Hyakuren is a standard IBO kit; it features a quirky design that pushes the frame its connectors to the limit.
If you are patient with it you can get some phenomenal poses, you’ll just have to reattach parts that came off during the process.
Fortunately it isn’t plagued by stickers as it’s mostly color accurate out of the box, but adding in the missing color apps really brings the end result up a notch.
