HG / GWITCH #06 – Chuchu’s Demi Trainer

“ Demi Trainers are a common sight at school; they receive regular updates and upgrades. Despite there being no change to their outward appearance, the latest iterations have vast improvements over the originals. As the members of Earth House are unable to afford the latest model Demi Trainers, they are forced to bridge the gap by customizing older models. This led to a development project called Project Chuchu, which culminated in the completion of this unit. Chuchu’s Demi Trainer was optimized for hit-and-run tactics; firing its Large Beam Rifle, then rapidly retreating. With major acceleration and deceleration improvements made primarily to its legs, the unit can start and stop on a dime. These abilities are so extreme, in fact, that they are difficult to handle for any pilot who has not undergone intense high-g training. Chuchu, a pilot who despises retreating, was not thrilled at the idea of a unit best suited for hit-and-run tactics, but has come to see that it may be Earth House’s best shot at attaining victory.”

Mobile Suit Equipment

Large Beam Rifle

A custom weapon built specifically for this unit, using the Demi Trainer’s original large scale firearm as a base. The rifle is mounted to its arm unit in front while being carried. It receives a direct supply of energy from the unit’s backpack and can fire at both short and long ranges by adjusting its convergence rate.

Head Unit

By replacing the Demi Trainer’s standard composite sensors with independent ones more suited to accounting for its large beam rifle, Chuchu’s unit features improved accuracy on all fronts. Its head unit is also outfitted with Beam Vulcans.

Flexible Booster

The boosters located on the legs can be rotated, allowing the unit to change its angle of propulsion.

Wheel Dash Plus

This Demi Trainer also features Wheel Dash units embedded in its heels, allowing it to glide along surfaces, doubling its driving force.

Unique Kit Feature

Her Skirt Doesn’t Have Pockets, But It Does Have A Lock

The rear skirt panel attaches to the hips….
however it can be lifted up which unlocks the joint to move freely…
and tilt backwards….
or lean forward.

Chuchu Rocks It

Cheers:

+ I really like the Burion design, it reminds me of Titanfall and looks like something that could exist in real life.
+ Includes a set of closed holding hands + open palm posing hands.

Cons:

– Due to the lore/design of the suit the ankles are locked and the lot of the articulation comes from the toe section pivoting, not the actual foot.
– I wish the wire were longer, it works for a lot of firing poses but can be snug at some angles.
– No way to hold the weapon like in the 6v6 battle.

Closing thoughts:

This was a quick & fun kit to assemble, but I feel like the posing limitations really hold it back.
Chuchu is another one of my favorite Witch From Mercury characters. I feel like she is a parallel of Sophie, if she had been supported and able to take a different path.
